weird (adj.) Look up weird at Dictionary.comc.1400, "having power to control fate, from wierd (n.), from Old English wyrd "fate, chance, fortune; destiny; the Fates," literally "that which comes," from Proto-Germanic *wurthiz (cognates: Old Saxon wurd, Old High German wurt "fate," Old Norse urðr"fate, one of the three Norns"), from PIE *wert- "to turn, to wind," (cognates: German werden, Old English weorðan "to become"), from root *wer- (3) "to turn, bend" (see versus). For sense development from "turning" to "becoming," compare phrase turn into "become."

The sense "uncanny, supernatural" developed from Middle English use of weird sisters for the three fates or Norns (in Germanic mythology), the goddesses who controlled human destiny. They were portrayed as odd or frightening in appearance, as in "Macbeth" (and especially in 18th and 19th century productions of it), which led to the adjectival meaning "odd-looking, uncanny" (1815); "odd, strange, disturbingly different" (1820). Related: Weirdlyweirdness.

ill give a funny meaning to it samuel. i would say that the interpretation in the story is that cypher is good with the operating system, in that he can cypher the code, however  i don't think he really follows up from what he knows, he doesn't necessarily go any deeper than his intellectualism and gets trapped in that and that loses himself to temptation of the body. so in that story he says that he knows the steak is just a code but he still loves it anyways.

A question: Why in the movie the matrix, is Cypher, a.k.a a word for an encryption or possibly someone who decrypts (cypherist) the traitor? And what, if anything, does that have to do with all of our cyphering

Loving the discussion about lead, I also have an offering on it; Lead is a double word, meaning leader and the metal lead because it is an indication to the alchemical language and knowledge, the first thing the awakening being looks for is teachers and leaders, i remember hearing also that things compress into lead, and that lead does not conduct sound very well and it is poisonous, for more general info dictionaries are always great: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/lead in italian the word for lead poisoning is saturnismo... can't get more blatant than that! :D

An anagram for Lead is Deal.

Hey Mark.  Since most of our language is backwards(words), the ability to convey something is often polar of its intended meaning.  As far as LEAD goes, there is much too un-veil.  Lead is used in #2 PENcils.  Lead is the lowest 'base' of the 7 traditional metals, and has much to do with Saturn.  Lead also was used to make BULLetts.

The meaning you seek within lead is occulted by expectations that you think lead should have.  Lead does lead as you suggest, but just not in a 'positive' or expanding consciousness type way - it leads down and pulls 'negatively'.  So, it does in fact lead somewhere and to the lower base areas of thought and being.

To pull apart each letter may unmask some more, but this should be a solid start for you... If you want me to uncover some more for you, let me know.

yes i think you may be right in your intuition mark. i could just guess and infer that the L in lead refers to elohim. the ea refers to enki from sumeria and d for division. however that is just a guess. hope you find your answer ;)
